Okay, all you young mothers. Not always Dick just kidding go Fuck shirt. My “children” are 41 and 38. I weaned my first child at 9 months so I could go back to work part-time. I had to go back to work FULL time when my second child was 4 months old so slowly starting weaning her and supplementing formula so I could just breastfeed her before and after work. This was 1980. NO ONE pumped at work. (When I did pump at home, I only had a manual pump and I think I got Carpel Tunnel in my right wrist after 15 minutes of pumping—for about 1 oz of milk.) So, by the end of an 8 hr day,
I drove about 12 miles to the sitter’s house praying my boob wouldn’t explode. One time I was late and called the sitter before I left (no cell phones then) and screamed: “Don’t give her a bottle!” When I got there, my poor little girl choked on my milk cause it was coming out so fast and it squirted all over her face! My only regret was that I had to wean her too soon because it was just too much for me. Breastfeeding was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I applaud every one of you working mothers for your efforts in making it work for your children.
