I’ve given it thought. My biggest problem with it is that the blue mill cards, and even Connive Concoct aren’t creatures. The density of 33 creatures is what makes the deck tick. Even going down to something like 28 impacts your consistency enough that Molderhulks aren’t coming down early, and your Wounds might take multiple enablers to be good. I’m not sure the deck can afford that, and I don’t think the 2 mana payoff of a cheaper giant negates that drawback. For a Blue dredge deck in standard, I would look to something like Saffron Olives Pheonix build that self mills aggressively with drowned secrets and the like. I’m generally of the opinion everything is worth testing, so I think it’s probably worth a slot to give it a try and see what kind of impact it has. I’d have to run the numbers on the mana as well. The deck does want untapped mana on T1 if it can get it, and then curves out from there. You can very consistently spend all of your mana every turn. Additional tap lands or shock lands have a very real cost.
